About this recipe
Once upon a time, I mixed two of my favourite dairy products to see what would happen. I got addicted to this recipe, that’s what happened! It’s sweet, it’s sour, with a hint of salt and just mouth-wateringly delicious.
Also, super-versatile! The version in the picture is with my favourite fruit peaches but you can eat with any fruit. And it’s perfect for your carb-up week. I tend to crave it during those days.
The cottage cheese quark mix lasts in an air-tight container for up to 4 days in the fridge, as long as the fruit is not mixed in!
Cottage Cheese Quark Mix with Fruit
Ingredients
- 200 g cottage cheese
- 200 g quark, 40% fat if you can get it
- 1 pinch salt
- favourite fresh fruit
Instructions
- Mix the cottage cheese, quark, and a pinch of salt in a bowl or storage container.
- Cut the fruit into pieces and add it to 1/3 of the mix. Enjoy!
Variations
Keto
Just use berries. You could also add a dollop of whipped cream, or even mascarpone.
Sweetness
I like the sour taste of the cottage cheese and quark mixture. But if it’s not sweet enough for you, mash up a banana and add it to the mix. I wouldn’t cut up the banana and just eat it like that. For some reason, that doesn’t so good. Although that might just be me!
Fruit
Anything goes. Since the cottage cheese quark mix is quite sour, you get the best flavour with really sweet fruit so I would choose whatever is in season. My favourites are peaches and plums.
