About this recipe
Yoghurt Salad Dressing is my favourite dressing for my mixed salad. It adds the bit of fat my body needs to absorb the fat-soluble vitamins in the salad, tastes delicious and is made from scratch in 5 minutes.
I usually mix it fresh but you can prepare two or three portions and keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days. If you use fresh garlic instead of the powdered version, just be aware that the garlic flavour intensifies over time.
Yoghurt Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp yoghurt (full fat)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- pepper to taste
- 1 slice lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the yoghurt, salt, garlic powder, pepper and the juice from the lemon slice (optional) together. Leave mixture to rest for 5 minutes.
- Pour it over your favourite green or mixed salad and enjoy!
Variations
Vegan
Use vegan yoghurt instead.
Herbs
This is the most basic recipe. It’s also the one I like the most. But if you enjoy herbs, you can always chop up a few or add 1/2 tsp of your favourite dried herbs to the mix. Dried herbs need to soak a bit so the Yoghurt Salad Dressing will actually taste better if you leave it for a few hours or even until the next day.
