About this recipe
Chia and orange: a match made in heaven. I love oranges and mandarines in winter! Their sweetness goes particularly well with Greek yoghurt and for a bit of extra zest quark. Add some Chia seeds and you have a delicious and filling dessert or snack.
Mix the Chia and orange yoghurt straight into an air-tight container and you can keep it in your fridge for three days! I add even more fruit, like a chopped up apple, but that’s optional. Enjoy!
Chia and Orange Yoghurt
Ingredients
- 100 g quark (full fat if you can get it) If you don't have quark, just add another 100g of Greek Yoghurt.
- 200 g Greek yoghurt
- 1 banana
- 1 orange
- 3 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Mix the quark, the yoghurt and a pinch of salt together until they are smooth.
- Mash the banana and mix it with the quark and yoghurt.
- Peel the orange and take it apart. Cut the slices into three or four bits. Do this over the container with the mixture so you collect the juice.
- Mix in the Chia seeds. Cover it with a lid or cling foil and leave it to rest in the fridge overnight.
Variations
Vegan
Replace the yoghurt and quark with a vegan version and you’re good to go!
Fruit
If you don’t oranges you can use another fruit. In summer, try some melon! If the fruit is dry, though, you might want to add a bit of liquid for the Chia seeds: A dash of Kefir or milk will work.
