About this recipe
If you had a look at other recipes on this site, you may have already guessed that I love chocolate. I now proudly present my latest creation: The sugar-free chocolate spread.
It’s easy to make and if you prefer the vegan version that’s simple too. On the picture above, I spread the chocolate on a slice of milk cake. It works perfectly fine with bread too! Since the sweetness comes from the banana, you want to mix your chocolate spread in an air-tight container and store it in the fridge.
Chocolate Spread
Ingredients
- 1 large banana
- 3 tbsp cocoa (sugar-free)
- 2 tbsp nut butter, like peanut butter
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
- Mash up the banana with a fork. Mix in the cocoa powder and the pinch of salt until they are well-combined.
- Add the nut butter and keep mixing. If the mixture is too thick, add a tbsp of nut milk or regular milk to it and mix again.
- Once you have a smooth spread, keep it in an air-tight container for a few hours or better until the next day. Keep in the fridge and take it out a few minutes before you want to eat it. Spread it on bread, biscuits or cakes. Enjoy!
Variations
Vegan
Leave out the milk or replace it with a nut milk for a sugar-free vegan chocolate spread.
Nutbutters
I made the chocolate spread with peanut butter because I always have some in the house. If you want a flavour closer to store-bought chocolate spreads, use hazelnut butter instead.
