About this recipe
Summer time means fruit time! One of my favourite deserts is a fruit salad. It’s particularly amazing on a hot afternoon and perfect for sharing! The more people you share with the better because you can add lots of different fruits together.
You can keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge over night. Just make sure to pick out and eat all of the banana pieces on the day because they will turn very brown and soggy. Enjoy the fruit salad by itself or serve it with a dollop of ice cream.
Fruit Salad
Ingredients
- 1 melon (any type you like)
- 1 mango
- 3 kiwis
- 2 apples
- 2 bananas
- grapes
- 1/2 lemon
Instructions
- Peel all of the fruit (except for the apples and the grapes), remove cores if applicable and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Place everything into a big salad bowl.
- Squeeze out the lemon and pour the juice over the fruit. Mix well. Serve immediately. If you want to prepare it in advance, only add the bananas shortly before you serve the fruit salad. Store leftovers in the fridge. Enjoy!
Variations
Fruit
Use any fruit you like and that is in season. The riper, the better. Some people prefer lots of different fruits together, others prefer only a few combinations. Try what works best for you and your family and friends.
