What do you get when you combine keto Tortilla Chips with cheese, salsa and guacamole? A delicious dinner. Or appetizer or snack if you feel like sharing. I love eating the Tortilla Chips Plate on movie night.
You can prepare the tortilla chips and the salsa in advance. I always make the guacamole fresh though because it goes bad so quickly. My plate is topped off with black pepper. Add some chili flakes before you melt the cheese for a spicier version. Enjoy!
Tortilla Chips Plate
Ingredients
- 20 Keto tortilla chips For link to recipe, see description in the post.
- 5 tbsp salsa For link to recipe, see description in the post.
- 70 g grated Mozzarella
- pepper
- guacamole For link to recipe, see description in the post.
Instructions
- Cover a microwave safe plate with half of the tortilla chips. Spread them out evenly.
- Drip 2 tablespoons of salsa over the chips and spread it.
- Sprinkle half of the Mozzarella on top.
- Then repeat the layers: Another layer of tortilla chips, topped with the rest of the salsa and the cheese. Add freshly ground pepper. Microwave the plate for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted.
- Leave it to cool down for a couple of minutes, then serve it with guacamole and/or more salsa to dip. Enjoy!
Variations
Cheeses
Top the tortilla chips plate off with any cheese you like. Mozzarella melts into a lovely gooey mess. Emmental stays fairly firm. Cheddar and gouda are somewhere in-between: gooey but not so stringy. You can also mix different grated cheeses together for a completely new flavour.
Vegan
Leave out the cheese and instead, sprinkle some nutritional yeast on top of the salsa layers. If you have a favourite grated vegan cheese that might also be an alternative. Melt a little bit in the microwave by itself first because not all vegan cheeses react well to being microwaved.
